Unveiled last month in South Korea, Samsung Galaxy S II HD LTE has just been approved by FCC (Federal Communication Commission).

Although the latest hearsay suggested that the smartphone might not be available outside South Korea, it appears that the Korean handset manufacturer will make it available in North America sooner than expected.

Listed as Samsung SHV-E120L, the Galaxy S II HD LTE is equipped with a dual-core 1.5 Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and packs 16GB of internal memory, 1GB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 8GB memory card included).

However, the highlight of smartphone is the large 4.65-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors support and 720 x 1280 pixels resolution which is protected by Gorilla Glass display.

No word on the release date in the United States yet, but the superphone is likely to be announced by the end of the year.
