South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics has been long rumored to plan on making its Galaxy Note 4 smartphone official in early September during the IFA 2014 trade show in Berlin, but no specific info on the device’s actual reveal date has been provided until now.

However, a recent article on Korea Times claims that the device could go official on September 3, as the handset vendor is planning to hold a special launch event on that day.

No official confirmation on the matter has been provided as of now, but it seems that Samsung will start sending invitations to the aforementioned event very soon.

One thing that should be noted here is the fact that Samsung might not be the only vendor planning a smartphone launch on September 3. Sony is also expected to make its Xperia Z3 smartphone official on that day, and might also announce a smaller Xperia Z3 Compact model along with it.

Apparently, the upcoming Galaxy Note 4 will feature much better hardware specs when compared to last year’s Galaxy Note 3, though it is expected to sport the same size as its predecessor did, featuring a 5.7-inch Quad HD display.

Galaxy Note 4 hasn’t been officially confirmed as of now, but Samsung made a habit of announcing new Galaxy Note devices at IFA in the past, and this year should not be different.
