Ryse: Son of Rome developer Crytek has confirmed that it's been constantly upgrading the game ever since its first showing at E3 2013 this summer and that the decision to run at native 900p (1600x900) resolution and then upscale it to 1080p (1920x1080) makes the game perform much better.

Ryse: Son of Rome impressed quite a lot of gamers at E3 2013, as the Xbox One exclusive hack and slash title promised to deliver a high-quality experience on the new console.

Things got a bit more complicated a few weeks ago, when Microsoft confirmed that Ryse would run at 900p resolution, not a full HD 1080p one.

According to Crytek boss Cevat Yerli, who revealed a few new details on Twitter, the 900p resolution allows for the best performance. The final game will be upscaled to 1080p, so there won't be any compromises.

What's more, lots of upgrades have been made to the game since E3 2013, including better shadows and more details on the main hero, Marius.

Ryse will debut alongside the Xbox One on November 22 in 13 countries around the world.
