Former reality star Ryan Alexander Jenkins, the main suspect in the murder of his wife, former swimsuit model Jasmine Fiore, was found dead in a room in a Canadian motel. Jenkins, once a star on “Megan Wants a Millionaire,” is believed to have hanged himself, Canadian authorities say, as quoted by CNN.

Fiore’s body was discovered a week ago, with her teeth and fingers missing, presumably in an attempt on behalf of the killer to make identifying the body difficult. She was eventually ID’ed by a serial number on her implants. Since Jenkins was the last person to have been seen with her at a poker game in San Diego, and he also had a history of domestic violence, he became the prime suspect in the investigation. Later, he flew to Canada.

“Ryan Alexander Jenkins, a reality TV contestant suspected in his wife’s slaying, was found hanging from a coat rack in a motel room in an apparent suicide, according to Canadian officials. Staff at a hotel in Hope, British Columbia, found Jenkins dead, officials said. […] Walker said a woman, about 20 to 25 years old, dropped off Jenkins at the motel on Friday in a silver Chrysler PT Cruiser with Alberta tags. Police have not been able to identify the woman.” CNN informs.

According to reports, earlier on Saturday, Canadian officials reported that they had “credible” information of Jenkins’ whereabouts, calling on him to turn himself in. At the time, it was believed that he was armed and dangerous. Other reports in the media say that the woman who drove him to the motel where he was found dead stayed for about 20 minutes. The two paid for the room for two days – when Jenkins did not check out, hotel staff knocked on his door and eventually entered the room when they got no answer. They found him dead.

“The sadness of this is all is that Mr. Jenkins will not stand before an Orange County jury for his crime.” Lt. Steve Holliday of Buena Park PD told the media regarding the suicide. “At this present time the investigation into the circumstances of his death is continuing, but preliminary evidence suggests that he took his own life. Any further details will not be released at this time as this investigation remains in its infancy.” RCMP Sgt. Duncan Pound added.
