Another casual games site just for you and your free time

RuneScape developer Jagex is willing to bring everybody more browser-based fun and they called their new project FunOrb Games. Unlike the successful MMORPG, this site wants to give you a better alternative to spend your free time or, rather - waste your time, since it is a casual gaming site to the bone.

FunOrb has been designed with time-pressed gamers in mind, the devs say. "For the first time, there is a generation of experienced gamers, turned young professionals, who want to play and be challenged, but are unable to devote large amounts of free time to gaming. FunOrb addresses this niche by blending quality entertainment with social functionality, offering players of all levels a complete social gaming experience," said Geoff Iddison, CEO, Jagex.

Just like the other ton of casual game sites out there (including the newly launched and instantly gone into the shadows MySpace Games), FunOrb will encompass a broad range of game genres, including classic shooters, puzzlers, 3D platformers and strategy games. FunOrb offers a mix of single and multiplayer games, complete with virtual 'lobbies' enabling users to choose who to play against from hundreds of other FunOrb players. Additional features such as friends league tables, player achievements, forums and instant messaging will also be available in-game or on the website.

And, even though most of the games will be free, it will be most like a "free preview", with paid membership giving you access to additional game levels, achievements and community features. The fun part, we'd dare to say. Still, the prices are not very high - the membership only costs $3.00 per month and, if you are already playing RuneScape and would like to get a combined membership, one month's membership will only cost you $2.00. So, if you are interested, don't hesitate to pay a visit to this site. It really has some addictive games.
