If you’re thinking that the best target for a robbery is the Mob because the cops would not actually care that a bunch of wise guys had their money and jewelry stolen, you’re probably making the same mistake as a young couple from Queens.

“Rob the Mob” is their story brought to the big screen, with Michael Pitt and Nina Arianda as leads. The first trailer for the film, which comes out in February next year, is embedded above, and sells the film as a combination of typical mob movie with elements of comedy.

However, we all know that trailers are incredibly deceiving, so it could be that this one is downplaying the violence in a bid to get more people in the theater to see it.

“ROB THE MOB is the true-life story of a crazy-in-love Queens couple who robbed a series of mafia social clubs and got away with it… for a while… until they stumble upon a score bigger than they ever planned and become targets of both the mob and the FBI,” a short synopsis of the film says.

“Rob the Mob” is directed by Raymond De Felitta and also stars Andy Garcia (because a mob movie can’t call itself that unless Garcia is also in it), Michael Rispoli, and Ray Romano.
