Hiro Yamada, a producer working at Nintendo, says that a reveal for the new Wii U title that developer Retro is working on should take place soon, potentially before the E3 2013 trade show in the middle of June.

The executive tells The Official Nintendo Magazine that, “I wonder what kind of game it is? I hope to introduce it to you in the not so distant future.”

The leader of Nintendo of America, Reggie Fils-Aime, has already revealed that a new project is in development and he believes that its quality will surprise players.

Retro Studios is best known for the Metroid Prime series, which might be revived for the Wii U, but it has also worked on Donkey Kong Country Returns and, most recently, on Mario Kart 7.

A new Mario Kart will certainly revitalize Wii U sales.
