Vince Zampella, the current leader of Respawn Entertainment, confirms that co-founder Jason West has left the company, saying that he made the decision in order to deal with family issues.

The developer writes on the official blog that, “It is sad to see things come to an end, but there are times when change is best for growth, both personally and professionally.”

It’s unclear whether Jason West has any plans to return to video game development once his personal problems are dealt with.

At the same time, Zampella is suggesting that the development process for the first new game to come from Respawn is not affected.

He adds, “Respawn continues to amaze me, the team here is resilient and talented.”

The developer also suggests that a big reveal is planned for E3.

Rumors suggest that Respwan’s new video game is a firs- person shooter that uses a near-future military setting.
