The Pokemon Company has announced the launch for Pokemon White Version and Black Version is set for the spring of 2011 in both Europe and North America. The Nintendo DS exclusive titles will also have covers featuring all-new Pokemons, Reshiram linked to the Black version and Zekrom linked to the White one. The same covers will be used in all territories where the new Pokemon titles will be outed.

Laurent Fischer, who is the managing director of marketing and public relations at Nintendo of Europe, said, “It’s rare to find a franchise with such worldwide appeal and dedicated fans as Pokémon. We’re excited to inform our fans that this eagerly anticipated adventure, featuring an all-new generation of Pokémon, will be available in Europe in spring 2011.”

Pokemon Black and White are the first new titles in the universe for some time. Heart Gold and Soul Silver, which are remakes of older titles, performed admirably on the market, selling more than 8.4 million copies since they were launched on the Nintendo DS. Since the franchise was launched on gaming devices, it has managed to sell more than 200 million units.

Pokemon Black and White will be launched on the Japanese market in the fall of this year, with some of the new monsters appearing in the two games debuting some months earlier in a new movie that will probably be shown only in Japan.

Nintendo has until now unveiled that starting Pokemon will include: grass snake Pokemon “Tsutarja;” Fire Pig Pokemon “Pokabu” and Sea Otter Pokemon “Mijumaru.” It has also been revealed that the main story of the game will take players to the Isshu region with the main hub for quests being the metropolis of Hium City. More details might come at the E3 Nintendo presentation and the Japanese media will surely have more information on the new national craze soon.
