It could cause rashes or other skin troubles to their users

Wristbands are all well and good, but it looks like they can be troublesome too, if Fitbit's Force is any indication. The problems were so bad that Razer decided to delay its own Nabu until it was sure it didn't suffer from the same problems.

Fitbit's Force fitness tracker was recently recalled because wearing it caused rashes and other skin conditions.

Razer was going to launch its Nabu smartband in March, or at least April this year (2014), but it has now reconsidered.

Because it wants to make sure that its Nabu does not cause skin irritation or what have you, it will hold off on the release until May or June. The time between now and then will be used for further tests.

Of course, such things can become pretty ambiguous. After all, if you, say, jog for 30 minutes, skin irritation and rashes could emerge simply because of the constant friction between the wearable band and your sweaty skin.

Nonetheless, tests to ensure that the things are skin-friendly should have been included in the development process from the beginning. It's seems that Fitbit didn't do that from the start.

That Razer has delayed its Nabu could mean that it, too, had originally foregone the tests, or that it's simply delaying it in order to avoid suffering from the PR disaster by association.
