Rayman Origins, the colorful side scrolling platformer that was released late last year on the PS3, Xbox 360 or Wii, is making its way onto the Nintendo 3DS in March.

Rayman Origins was Ubisoft’s attempt at reviving its classic Rayman franchise, using its UbiArt technology, which recreates stunning hand-drawn environments and all sorts of gameplay possibilities.

While it wasn’t the success the French company had hoped for, Rayman Origins is still getting ready for its release on the Nintendo 3DS later this year.

The game is scheduled to make its appearance on March 16, when 3DS owners from Europe can get a hold of the quirky platform. A release date for North America, however, has yet to be revealed, but residents of the U.S. or Canada can expect the game to appear sometime in March.

Expect more details about Rayman Origins’ 3DS edition in the near future.
