The much troubled Prey 2 is currently under development at Arkane Studios, the team that created the successful Dishonored, after a number of other teams turned down the chance to work on the game.

A source quoted by Kotaku claims that Bethesda has sought a way of ensuring quality for Prey 2 since Human Head Studio abandoned the project.

At one point Obsidian was linked to the game and Rebellion was contacted for more work but turned down the offer.

Arkane Studios is now firmly in charge and using a number of ideas that were not initially associated with Prey 2.

The source also claims that some developers do not appreciate the task that Bethesda has saddled them with.

Apparently the reboot will use some of the ideas that powered the original System Shock.

Prey 2 is now expected to launch in late 2016.
