Point Linux, a GNU/Linux distribution that aims to combine the power of Debian GNU/Linux with the productivity of MATE, is now at version 3.0 Beta 1.
Point Linux 3.0 Beta 1 is based on Debian 8 (Jessie) and uses Linux kernel 3.11-2. This latest version brings quite a few changes and new features.
The developers also integrated the latest version of MATE 1.6.0 and a number of important updates, Firefox 26.0, Thunderbird 24.1.0, and LibreOffice 4.1.3.
Also, the firmware-b43-installer has been added to Wi-Fi drivers, the Update Manager (GUI) hasn't been implemented yet, and Compiz is not yet ready.
