A brand new report has appeared online saying that Sony will launch the PlayStation 4 on October 21, at least judging by a product release schedule sent to a retailer and leaked by one of its employees.

Next-gen consoles are set to appear this fall, with Microsoft confirming that its Xbox One will appear in November, while Sony said that its PS4 is going to debut in the holiday season of this year.

While quite a few release dates have surfaced online in recent months, a brand new one has just appeared via website NeoGAF, as an employee of a large retailer confirmed that the PS4 is going to release on October 21.

The employee's status was verified and he claimed that an internal product release schedule marked the launch of a new "Sony console" at the end of October, much earlier than previous release estimates.

As of yet, however, Sony hasn't talked about a potential launch date for its PS4.
