Whether or not Apple’s innovation pace has slowed down in recent years, you can’t argue that things haven’t progressed a lot on the Macintosh front since System 7 came into existence.

For those of you who like to reminisce, James Friend (with the help of some other people he likes to call friends), has created a demo of PCE's classic Macintosh emulation, running System 7.0.1 with MacPaint, MacDraw, and Kid Pix.

It’s basically an old (virtual) Macintosh running in your web browser. You can try out more apps and games in a separate demo, all available at http://jamesfriend.com.au/pce-js/.

If my memory serves me right, Kid Pix was the first application I ever used on a computer. Something about the recyclability of the screen got me hooked on drawing. What was your first experience with the Mac?
