Adam Clegg, a developer working at Sony Online Entertainment, suggests that his team has no plans to introduce cross-platform play between the PlayStation 4 and the PC versions of the MMO Planetside 2.

The game maker tells News10 that, “PS4 players are going to be on separate servers right now. PC players will still have their servers that we have up and running right now and then we’ll create PlayStation 4 servers for the PlanetSide 2 players.”

Traditionally, console players have been segregated to their own servers because the inherent advantage that a mouse and keyboard setup offers to those gaming on the PC.

Despite the separation of the two groups, the team at SOE wants to offer the same Planetside 2 game experience on both platforms.

The MMO will be offered when the PlayStation 4 is launched.
