David Tavares, the developer of the Pear OS Linux operating system, proudly announced a few hours ago (April 4) that the server edition of the highly anticipated Pear OS 7 Linux distribution is now available for download.
Being powered by Linux kernel 3.5, the Pear OS 7 Server operating system includes updated applications and fixes various bugs found in the development releases, making it stable and more reliable.
Pear OS 7 Server includes the following open source technologies found on all server distributions: Apache web server, MySQL database, Apache Tomcat servlet container, the Webmin system administration interface, the Samba file sharing server, the powerful Proftpd FTP server, a UNIX firewall and SSH.
The server edition of the Pear OS 7 operating system is distributable as a DVD ISO image, supporting only the 64-bit architecture. More details can be found in the official release announcement.
