Developers Overkill Games and Starbreeze officially announce Payday 2, a new heist-focused video game that will be launched during the summer on the Xbox Live Arcade from Microsoft, the PlayStation Network from Sony and the PC.

The new title will take place in Washington, D.C., and will feature the same crew of four criminals from the first title in the series: Dallas, Hoxton, Wolf and Chains.

The main feature of the new title is called Crimenet and allows players access to a network of shady characters who set up various jobs, ranging from corner convenience stores to high-profile kidnappings and cyber security related attacks.

Payday 2 will feature a progression system that will see bigger jobs unlocked based on gamer performance and a slew of new customization options complemented by a crafting mechanic.
