Stability of out-of-process plugins has been consolidated

Expressing no official stand about Facebook’s apparent interest in acquiring their web browser, Opera maintains a steady pace developing version 12 of their product, by releasing a new snapshot.

Build 1438 brings to the table stability improvements as far as out-of-process plugins are concerned, and repairs for the email module and some HTML5 drag and drop fixes, as well.

The issues affecting OOPP, and solved in this release, range from crashes and freezes caused by changing the resolution on embedded YouTube video to missing controls on flash video. Inability to detect plugins sometimes has been noticed on Linux/FreeBSD, where there have been reported crashes when logging into Twitter.

Crashes have also been noticed in the case of the email client. This sort of inconvenience seemed to be triggered by empty subject lines. Other repairs address problems like freezes for some users or messages not being expanded to view the full text.

Update: Opera just released a new snapshot that includes master password fixes and solves the problem with fonts occasionally going missing on Linux and FreeBSD.
