14 DAY TRIAL // “Truth” is the name of this unusual painting of President Barack Obama as Jesus Christ. The piece is on display at the Bunker Hill Community College Art Gallery in Boston.
Art is most appreciated when it provides the shock factor, and Obama as Jesus sure does do that. Michael D'Antuono was supposed to unveil his work in New York's Union Square four years ago, however was banned from doing so after a record number of complaints.
His artwork is now included in the “Artists on the Stump – the Road to the White House 2012” exhibit, Daily Mail wrrites.
Obama appears to be crucified in the painting – his arms are stretched to the sides, and he wears a crown of thorns, while he looks down.
I believe his attire, depicted in blue, red and white, is meant to symbolize the fact that he is taking one for the country.
