Earlier this year, OCZ, a leading manufacturer of flash-based memory products, unleashed a new keyboard part of the company's new Alchemy product lineup, which was first introduced at this year's edition of the Computex show. Dubbed Elixir, the keyboard was meant to offer support to gamers on budget. However, it looks like the Sunnyvale, California-based company is ready to deliver its second Elixir keyboard, which will further extend the Alchemy lineup, as promised.

“The new Alchemy line from OCZ is designed to offer gamers quality gaming solutions that deliver both exceptional performance and value,” said Product Manager of the OCZ Technology Group, Eugene Chang, speaking about the company's first Elixir keyboard.

Despite the fact that OCZ Technology is yet to officially unveil the latest Elixir keyboard, it looks like pictures of the upcoming product have already surfaced on the Internet. Unlike the first Elixir keyboard, this one uses a new compact and slim design, while being incredibly lightweight, coming in at only 600g. However, it looks like this time OCZ has decided to go with a more compact design rather than with a complex keyboard layout, as is the case with most gaming keyboards out there. Elixir II comes with only three additional keys for Internet, E-Mail and System Power-down, unlike the first Elixir model, which provided several additional keys.

Aside from that, the Elixir II sports SoftTouch keys that come with a lifespan of 5 million cycles, a feature that could compete with Logitech's PerfectStroke key system. In addition, the new gaming peripheral from OCZ also has 100% rubber-coating for no-slip comfort and ergonomic design. No word on pricing and availability just yet, but the company is expected to release the new product in the upcoming days.

Last week, the company announced its new “OCZ Gear” online store, where users can directly purchase select OCZ products. “We are excited to introduce the OCZ Gear online store which will sell special clearance and B-Stock products direct to our customers,” Director of Product Management of the OCZ Technology Group, Ryan Edwards, commented at the time. “OCZ Gear is simply another way for us to better support our customers' needs. The majority of products listed are clearance items and those that are re-certified will be clearly marked.”
