September 5th is expected to prove a great day for Nokia, as the company is gearing up to unveil to the world what their CEO calls “the first working Windows Phone 8 device.”

Rival companies already unveiled Windows Phone 8 handsets, such as Samsung ATIV S, but Nokia is set to impress the world with today’s unveiling, Stephen Elop, Nokia CEO, said in a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal.

He also said that, in addition to specific features exclusive to Nokia devices, the company would unveil Windows Phone 8 functionality that other companies would also be able to take advantage of.

Of course, no specific info on the devices that might be unveiled to the world today has been provided, though Elop did say that “some exciting things” were coming.

At least two Nokia Windows Phone 8 handsets might be unveiled today, namely the Lumia 820 and Lumia 920.
