Today, Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has officially announced the availability of its Nokia Lumia 1020 smartphone on the market in China.

The company has unveiled the handset in partnership with China Unicom, and has announced that it will become available for purchase with a price tag of 5,999 Yuan ($980 / €740) attached to it (about the same price that the 32GB iPhone 5 sports in the country, techinasia reports).

However, the smartphone is also set to be put up for grabs through China Unicom in a special package, at 999 Yuan ($163 / €123) and then 386 Yuan ($63 / €47) over 3 years, WMPoweruser notes.

A series of accessories for the Nokia Lumia 1020 will be released in the country as well, including the camera grip, which features a price tag of 499 Yuan ($81.50 / €61).

Apparently, Nokia is also set to make the smartphone available in the country on the network of China Mobile, the largest wireless carrier in the local market and in the world.

For those out of the loop, we should note that Lumia 1020 was made official last month with a 4.5-inch touchscreen display, and with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor packed inside.

Furthermore, the mobile phone features 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal memory, WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, LTE connectivity, GPS receiver, and the usual set of sensors.

The main selling point of the handset, however, is its 41-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with PureView technology packed inside, Optical Image Stabilization, and the like, capable of delivering a great imaging experience to all users. A front camera for video calling was also included.

Nokia Lumia 1020 arrives on shelves with Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 (GDR2) operating system loaded on top, as well as with a variety of exclusive applications from Nokia itself, including the Nokia Pro Camera, HERE maps and navigation applications, Nokia Music, and more.
