Apparently, Symbian Anna and Belle handsets are not the only new devices that Nokia plans on releasing on shelves with processors clocked in at 1GHz.

Series 40 phones that would include such fast CPUs are also in the pipe, and the recently spotted Nokia C3-01.5 might be one of them.

Yet unannounced, the mobile phone has just emerged in a series of leaked photos, and is said to be accompanied by a multitude of other similar devices.

With a 1GHz processor and 512MB RAM inside, the new device will certainly prove as powerful as some of the popular smartphones on shelves today, though it would certainly land with a much lower price tag than these.

Previous rumors did suggest that Nokia would be set to bring to the market Series 40 devices that would sport fast 1GHz application processors, but it seemed rather unlikely for the company to make such a move.

However, recent reports on the matter point at the possible near release of a flurry of such devices, with Nokia C3-01.5 being one of the first to hit the shelves with this hardware platform inside.

With a similar form factor as the Nokia C3 Touch & Type, the new handset is expected to become official later this year, most probably being slated for launch at Nokia World in September.

Moreover, the handset is expected to feature similar specs as the already available Touch & Type device, save for the said processor and RAM enhancements.

Along with the Nokia C3-01.5, the handset vendor is also expected to launch other Series 40 devices, including the C2-01.5 (RM722), C3-01.5 (RM-702), X2-01/X2-03 (RM-709), X3-02.5 (RM775 or RM-776) and the X2-01.1(RM-717).

The same as Nokia C3-01.5, all these would be upgraded versions of older devices, though it remains to be seen whether Nokia would aim at keeping this naming scheme, or would chose another one for them.
