Microsoft strikes new deal for its cloud-based productivity suite

Microsoft has recently announced that the New York State is the latest government that agreed to make the move to Office 365, thus providing employees with state-of-the-art productivity and collaboration tools.

More than 120,000 staff members working for state executive agencies will benefit from the deal, with the migration expected to be completed by the end of 2013.

“I’m continually impressed by the forward-looking nature of our state customers when it comes to maximizing their available resources,” said Michael Donlan, vice president of state and local government for Microsoft.

“In this move to the cloud, Governor Cuomo’s administration is equally focused on ensuring the productivity and efficiency of its employees along with the security and privacy of its citizens across New York.”

The State of New York will get access to all built-in productivity services, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Publisher, with compatibly for multiple devices, including desktop computers, tablets, and smartphones.
