We have already heard that the new first-person shooter project from Respawn Entertainment will be exclusive to the Xbox 720 from Microsoft and the same sources are suggesting that the game will run on a modified version of the Source engine from Valve.

It’s not clear why the Respawn team would choose to use the older Source tech, as Kotaku claims, rather than adapt the Frostbite 3 engine that DICE created for Battlefield 4.

The technology is already widely used by projects inside Electronic Arts.

The new Respawn video game, called Titan, is expected to focus on multiplayer and will allow players to choose from one of two factions before jumping into massive battles that affect ownership of various areas of the game world.

The game is expected to get an official reveal during E3 2013 and might be launched at the same time as the Xbox 720 from Microsoft.
