The new phone is expected to debut this fall alongside the iPhone 5S

A new photo purporting to show the plastic “budget” iPhone for 2013 is making the rounds in China, seemingly corroborating all the leaks involving the rumored phone.

Leaked on China’s version of Twitter, Sina Weibo, and dished out by a Dutch blog, the image displayed above shows the same design particularities as all the previous leaks.

The phone’s shell is made of polycarbonate plastic, has rounded corners, and sports the same speaker grill and Lightning connector array as the fifth-generation iPod touch.

As evidenced in a high-quality YouTube video earlier this week, the phone seems to combine design elements from the old iPhone 3GS and the latest iPod touch players.

Not all of these plastic iPhone cases are believed to be genuine, meaning this one too could be a mere replica of a Chinese iPhone knockoff.

Rumor has it that Apple has merely repackaged its iPhone 5 in plastic to sell it at a lower price, while the company also reportedly has an iPhone 5S in the works. The two phones are expected to launch at an event this fall.
