Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile is getting ready for the release of new software updates for its Xperia Z (C6606, C6616) phones in North America, and has already had two new firmware builds for the device approved by the PTCRB.

The first of the two is build number 10.1.1.A.1.319, which is reportedly powered by the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean platform, and which would follow the recent delivered firmware 10.1.1.A.1.307.

The second firmware approved for the device sports build number 10.3.A.0.407, which, according to XperiaBlog, might arrive on devices with a new flavor of Android packed inside, namely Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

Provided that this is indeed an OS upgrade for the smartphone, it should not be too long before it is certified for the HSPA+ (C6602) and European LTE (C6603) versions of the device as well, so stay tuned for additional info on the matter.
