Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile appears set to make available a new software update for its Xperia Z Ultra smartphone in the not too distant future, and has already received the necessary certification for it, it seems.

According to a recent post on XperiaGuide, PTCRB has already approved two new firmware versions for the smartphone, namely 14.1.B.1.510 and 14.1.B.1.515.

Apparently, firmware release 14.1.B.1.510 was developed for the Xperia Z Ultra C6802 (XL39h) HSPA+ version of the device, as well as for the C6806, C6833, C6843 LTE flavors.

The new software version, 14.1.B.1.515, is meant mainly for the Xperia Z Ultra C6843 model.

No specific info on when the new updates will start landing on devices has emerged, but rumor has it that Sony might begin the rollout only next month.
