A new QuickTime X icon as well

Cupertino-based company Apple released a few days ago a new build of its Mac OS X Snow Leopard operating system. The new Mac OS X 10.6 Build 10A421 has been seeded for developers engaged in the testing of the platform, and a few details on what it brings new to the table have already surfaced on the web.

As it happened with the latest builds that Apple released recently, it seems that there are only a few changes available, as the company has only included some minor tweaks to the performance, adjusted the Dock menus a little and changed the operation of Expose. The Mac OS X 10.6 is expected to land as soon as September, and it is in its final stages of development at the moment, yet some novelties are being included in each new build, until the final flavor makes it on the market.

When it comes to the newest build of the platform, it seems that it has been mainly subjected to a series of visual tweaks. Thus, it includes a wide range of new Desktop Pictures, as well as a changed QuickTime icon (it is now the very icon that Apple has showed recently), not to mention new avatars and an improved QuickTime pause button.

The new images are not the only goodies that Apple packed inside the new build, as there are also a series of performance improvements, as well as some stability enhancements. Moreover, the 10.0.0 Darwin Kernel is finally out of beta, some reports show. Little by little, it seems that the last touches are applied to the OS, and the final version should land in the very near future.

Until that happens, and details on how it will look like become available, you might want to take a look at the Desktop Pictures below, or download the full pack, which is available here (a .zip file of 95.7MB).
