The NEC N701i is one of the phones in NTT DoCoMo's FOMA Autumn Collection 2005.

This rectangular clamshell comes in 4 color options: white, black, red, and light blue. It uses anti-bacteria material for its housing, and the phone is designed to allow users to change the housing easily with 7 color options excluding its original color. The phone plastic body is made from plant raw materials consist of starch and sugars of corn and potatoes. NEC use their own technology to further strengthen the material.

In the end, the mobile phone will become water and carbon dioxide after it's been disposed. Because it's a FOMA phone, the NEC N701i only supports WCDMA network. It measures 102?48 x 23 mm in dimensions and weighs 112 g. It features a 2.3" 65K color QVGA (240?345 pixels) TFT-LCD main display. As a 3G phone, it also comes with a 1.25 Megapixels CMOS main camera (with approximately 10x zoom), and a 0.11 Megapixels Maicovicon sub camera (with approximately 2x zoom).

The price of the new NEC N701i ECO, without service subscription contract, may vary between US$138 and $177 and is available only in Japan.
