The users have been urged to update their system as quickly as possible

Canonical announced, in a security notice, that a new MySQL update, for the Ubuntu 11.10, Ubuntu 11.04, Ubuntu 10.10, Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, and Ubuntu 8.04 LTS operating systems is now available, fixing multiple security issues.

A lot of problems were repaired with this update, and a complete list of the patched packages can be found in the security notice.

MySQL has been updated to version 5.1.61 in Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, Ubuntu 10.10, Ubuntu 11.04 and Ubuntu 11.10. Ubuntu 8.04 LTS has been updated to MySQL 5.0.95.
