Mobile phone maker Motorola launched its high-end Motorola Milestone in Canada about a month ago, exclusively via Telus, offering handset users in the country the possibility to enjoy one of the hottest Android-based devices on the market. Released exclusively with the carrier, the Motorola Milestone has just registered its first price cut, and those interested in it are now able to purchase it for only $149.99.

When put on sale back in February 16, the Motorola Milestone was available for the price tag of $199.99 upon the signing of a three-year contract agreement with the carrier. Now that $50 have been cut off its price tag, users will certainly find the device more appealing than before, especially with that Android OS 2.0.1 goodness it carries along.

According to mobilesyrup, there are great chances that the handset will see even more price tags in the near future, and we might learn next month that Telus has it available for purchase for less than $100 on a three-year contract. However, until that happens, if it happens, of course, the Milestone can be purchased for $149.99 from Telus on the lengthier contract agreement available, but users can opt for other offerings too, all of which can be seen on the wireless carrier's website here.

In case there are some of you who might not know this, the Motorola Milestone is also expected to soon receive an Android 2.1 software update from its maker. The company already announced plans to release the update to all DROID and Milestone users out there, and some of the latest reports around the Web suggested that the device would be released in Bulgaria with Android 2.1 on board, which means that the solution might be closer than expected. However, no exact details on when it arrives emerged, although Motorola was believed to release the update about a month ago.
