14 DAY TRIAL // Motorola ATRIX has just made its debut at Bell Canada and is available for purchase for $169.95 on a three-year term (with a minimum $50 voice/data plan), or for $599.95 off-contract.
Other price options offered by the carrier include: $574.95 with a new one-year agreement or $549.95 with a new two-year contract.
The ATRIX is currently one of the most popular 4G-enabled Android smartphones in North America, along with the recently launched HTC Thunderbolt.
The carrier has also stated that it would retail several innovative accessories for the Motorola ATRIX, such as the super thin Lapdock ($329.95) and the Motorola HD Multimedia Dock ($129.95), which uses the smartphone's HDMI video output capabilities to offer an improved media experience.
“The Motorola ATRIX is a high-performance super-smartphone that takes full advantage of Bell's world-leading 4G broadband mobile network," said Adel Bazerghi, senior vice president of products at Bell Mobility. "Operating exclusively on Canada's Best Network, the Motorola Atrix is powerful enough to meet the mobile computing and multimedia demands of both Bell business and consumer clients.”
There are no hardware differences between the Bell Motorola ATRIX and AT&T's version. However, the device will come pre-loaded with a wide range of mobile services including the Bell Remote PVR, GPS Navigator, Kobo eReader as well as easy access to Bell's Self Serve feature.
The smartphone is one of the first handsets to come with a dual-core processor on board and is powered by Android 2.2 Froyo. The manufacturer has revealed upgrade plans to 2.3 Gingerbread at some point.
According to Motorola, this is also the world's first smartphone to feature a qHD display packing 960 x 540 pixels resolution in a 4-inch screen.
Another interesting feature available is the biometric fingerprint reader that provides users with extra security.
The phone's extra-large 1930 mAh battery is rated by the manufacturer for up to 250 hours of standby or up to 9 hours of talk time.
