NTT DoCoMo has just announced that at the end of September, this year there were more than 40 million 3G FOMA subscribers. This happened in less than a year as it reached 30 million subscribers towards the end of 2006, six years after the service's launch back in October 2001.

3G FOMA has had a stunning evolution lately, as recent results reveal. Not only that, but it has registered a continuous growth over a long period and things seem to remain on the bright side, as NTT DoCoMo is optimistic about the future of this technology.

Moreover, Japan's leading telecom operator has started working on ways to improve even more this technology for some time now and recent results have shown that it is rapidly heading towards Super 3G. The company now offers 3G mobile services based on W-CDMA technology and also offers a great number of appealing discounts.

This includes "Pake-hodai" and "Pake-hodai Full" flat-rate data-communication billing plans and diverse content and services, such as "Deco-mail" e-mails. Users also have the possibility of personalizing the content of these services by using pictograms. The carrier also brings a large lineup of handsets, broad coverage area and high-quality calls.

The high number of FOMA users mainly rests on the company's successful efforts of bringing the most reliable 3G services, along with billing plans that manage to satisfy subscriber needs without emptying its pockets. The technology enables its users to easily handle a large number of personal files and also make the best of other evolved services that rely mostly on a strong connection and fast data transfer speeds. The 40 million number is only a milestone that has already been surpassed, with fast moves towards the next one to come before the end of next year.
