Shigeru Miyamoto, the legendary video game designer working for Nintendo, believes that the company has never created a truly bad game but admits that he has some regrets when it comes to one installment of the Legend of Zelda series.

The game maker tells Kotaku that Nintendo has an almost flawless record, although it’s not entirely clear whether he is only talking about the Zelda series or all first-party titles from the company.

He adds, “In Zelda 2 The Adventure of Link, unfortunately all we ended up creating was what we had originally planned on paper. I think specifically in the case of Zelda 2 we had a challenge just in terms of what the hardware was capable of doing.”

Miyamoto is at the moment coordinating overall development efforts at Nintendo and players will get access to a new Zelda title and more Mario adventures in the coming year.
