The Xbox 360 version of Minecraft has broken another sales record, as the creator of the franchise, Markus "Notch" Persson, has revealed that over 3 million copies have been downloaded via the Xbox Live Arcade.

Minecraft became a smash hit on the PC platform before it was even ready for release. Since then, developer Mojang, led by Persson, has brought it onto other platforms, like mobile operating systems and, most recently, on the Xbox 360 earlier this year.

Since then, the game broke sales records, managing to reach over 1 million units sold in less than a week.

Now, another major milestone has been achieved, as Persson has revealed on Twitter that over 3 million copies have been purchased by users via the Xbox Live Arcade.

This new performance has certainly pushed the lifetime sales figures of Minecraft over the 10 million mark, but no official data is available just yet.
