A new Microsoft studio called Lift is currently working on no less than four free-to-play titles that are set to use connected devices and the power of the cloud.

The description suggests that at least some of the games might be linked to the Xbox One and SmartGlass.

Lift is based in London and currently has 42 employees.

The information was offered during the Develop conference by Lee Schuneman, its leader.

According to him, the gaming industry needs to redefine the meaning of AAA games in order to take into account smaller games that also deliver high-quality experiences.

VG247 quotes the executive as saying, “It’s about quality and audience scale. Clash of Clans is triple-A. Halo is triple-A. And a 21st century service is about how you represent your audience and generate content that’s culturally relevant.”
