Before the next Windows 10 Mobile build arrives in Fast ring, Microsoft releases new updates for Outlook Mail and Calendar applications for this version of the OS.

There are quite a few changes included in these updates, such as new icons, tweaks, a few new features, and other improvements meant to make navigation within the apps' menus much easier.

Here are some of the improvements that you will find in the latest versions of Outlook Mail and Calendar apps for Windows 10 Mobile, courtesy to NPU.

First of all, the Outlook Mail user interface received some changes, such as new Icons for various quick-action buttons, including “New mail.”

Mail reading view has been revamped and it now features a new look, while quick action buttons have been moved to the bottom with new icons and design.

Moreover, Microsoft has done some changes to Outlook Settings as well, so those using the application until now will notice that the Settings page now features more options, including Background Picture.

New icons and lots of tweaks

In addition, the reading settings have been separated from options. Also, Outlook Mail users will not be able to set options for mailboxes separately.

Last but not least, Outlook Calendar for Windows 10 Mobile now features a new quick action button that allows users to swap between day and agenda view.

The Settings now show new color options and have a new look. Also, you will notice that tapping on the Month on top of the calendar will now bring Monthly view on the screen.

There might be some other under-the-hood changes made with the purpose of improving the apps' overall performance. The updates add some tweaks as well, but the most important changes have already been mentioned above.

In related news, we expect the next Windows 10 Mobile build to arrive sometime this week, though an exact release date has yet to be confirmed.
