The second-generation Surface tablet is expected to hit the market as soon as June and a new report claims that an 8-inch device is very likely to be part of the release.

Digitimes writes than an 8-inch Surface tablet using touch panels supplied by Samsung and processors provided by Nvidia is expected to be unveiled next month, probably during the BUILD developer conference.

Production will be Pegatron’s responsibility, the same report claims.

In addition to an 8-inch device, Microsoft is also giving the final touches to a 10-inch tablet, possibly smaller than 10.6 inches, but also equipped with top-notch components.

It appears that Microsoft is already very optimistic about the second-generation Surface and it plans monthly shipments of the two versions to reach one million units just before the holiday season.
