Microsoft is once again bringing the Surface RT into the spotlight, this time by emphasizing that its very first tablet is the toughest device on the market right now.

A blog post that came basically out of nowhere does nothing more than to state that the Surface, intensively tested in the company’s own Reliability Lab, “is rock-solid and reliable.”

“I reap the benefits of this team’s hard work every day as both my Surface Pro and Surface RT still look great and are going strong. It’s good to know that, long before you bought your Surface, the good folks in the reliability lab applied their considerable skills to make sure it will stand up to the rigors of life in the real world,” Dan Laycock, senior manager, Microsoft Surface, explains.

Word is that Microsoft is already preparing the second-generation Surface, but this doesn’t stop the company from promoting its existing models, probably in an attempt to sell more units for as long as it’s still possible.
