Microsoft is believed to be working on a new-generation Surface tablet that could be launched as soon as this month during the BUILD developer conference.

Just like TNW writes, the company is now trying to clear out Surface inventories in anticipation for the new product range that could go on sale in just a couple of months.

Microsoft has worked out not only discounts, but also giveaways for the existing version of the Surface RT, most likely because a new model is on its way.

According to sources familiar with the matter, Microsoft is also planning to debut a Surface Mini equipped with an 8-inch display and supposed to compete with the likes of iPad mini and Nexus 7.

As far as pricing goes, the Surface Mini could come with a price tag of $249 (€210), especially because the company is struggling to bring cheaper devices to the market.
