14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft has recently launched a special educational offer that allows schools to purchase Surface RTs for only $199 (€150) in what seems to be another attempt to clear out inventories.
According to a statement sent by Microsoft to ZDNet, the discount will be extended beyond the end of August 2013 to September 30, just to give more schools the chance to take advantage of the offer.
“Thanks to great customer interest, we are thrilled to share that this special offer to education institutions will continue until the end of September. Microsoft has a long tradition of supporting education institutions, and this offer is intended to get Surface in the hands of even more educators and students,” the statement reads.
At the same time, Microsoft is believed to be working on the second-generation Surface RT that’s likely to go live before year-end, just in time for the holiday season.
