Redmond-based technology giant Microsoft doesn’t talk too much about the way Windows 8 performs these days, but it’s generally believed that the new Windows contraption is a rather disappointing product.

While it hasn’t said clearly, Microsoft isn’t quite satisfied with Windows 8 sales, so it expects the new wave of tablets to boost the success of the operating system.

Sanket Akerkar, managing director at Microsoft India, said that Windows 8 is expected to perform a lot better in India in the coming months, as several new devices capable of running it are scheduled to go on sale.

“With a number of (Windows 8-based tablet) launches in March, I think we'll start seeing a lot more movement,” he was quoted as saying by The Times of India. “We are still in early days and there were only few of these tablets available during November, December and January.”

Microsoft doesn’t want to update us with new Windows 8 sales figures but, according to older information, the company sold approximately 60 million copies in two months after launch.
