They have mixed feelings on the on-going reorganization

Microsoft is going through a pretty big internal reorganization that was first started by former CEO Steve Ballmer last year, but which also continues right now under Satya Nadella's supervision.

Overall, the whole reorganization process has taken more than one year, but the culmination point was reached this year when Microsoft officially completed the takeover of Nokia's Devices and Services.

Once the deal was officially announced, Satya Nadella also made public plans for one of the biggest job cuts in the company's history, planning to fire no less than 18,000 workers from all divisions across the world.

With so many changes going on in the company, it's no surprise that some employees are getting tired with the reorganization process, and while many think that Microsoft is heading in the right direction, there are a few who feel unsettled after all of these.

One of the current Microsoft employees talked with Business Insider about the internal watercooler chat that's happening right now within the company, explaining that, in most of the cases, all these changes “are not healthy when you have an organization of over 100,000 people.”

Satya Nadella is “awesome”

As compared to Steve Ballmer, the new CEO Satya Nadella seems to be backed by the majority of employees in his efforts to push the company to a mobile first, cloud first world, but while the aforementioned Microsoftie describes the new leader as being “awesome,” he also admits that there are some frustrations among a number of groups.

“When you have these transitions and they keep continuing, that sort of thing wears on a lot of people,” he told the aforementioned source.

Surprisingly, some of the employees who are now working with Satya Nadella think that Steve Ballmer's reorganization plan could also get the company on the right path, pointing out that the former CEO had a vision that seemed just right in the short term.

“There's a whole set of people that can't deal with that constant change and at Microsoft there has definitely been a lot to deal with,” he said. “He had a plan that was to take us through the next few years.”

Nadella is a people person

One of the main advantages of Satya Nadella is that he has always been considered a people person and now he's trying to push the same approach among consumers as well.

Ever since he took over from Steve Ballmer, Nadella put the emphasis on consumer feedback, explaining that this particular aspect is critical for the success of the company's future projects.

“We need to be obsessed about customers,” Nadella told employees in his first email as company CEO, pointing out clearly that Microsoft needs to reinvent itself in the kind of firm that works together with customers on new software solutions that could help make life easier.
