14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft appears set to prove to the world that Windows 8 was indeed meant to fit the needs of both consumers and enterprise users alike.
At Microsoft Convergence 2012, the company brought business applications specifically designed to take full advantage of the capabilities of the new platform.
We have already had the chance to take a glance at screenshots with two such applications, and we can now have a closer look at some more of them.
At Convergence, Microsoft demonstrated working prototypes of Microsoft Dynamics GP (an ERP package) on Windows 8, and the screenshots available below will offer you some more info on the matter.
The application has been designed to take full advantage of the new approach to software development and usage that Windows 8 proposes.
It also shows that business apps designed for the Metro UI can still deliver all the capabilities that enterprise users are looking for.
This is the first example of an Enterprise application designed for the new operating system, and it looks quite promising.
Basically, it will enable IT pros and administrators to keep an eye on important business aspects even when on the go, straight from Windows 8-powered tablets.
Windows 8 applications will be available for download / purchase via Microsoft’s Windows Store, which is currently accessible as a preview version through the newly released Windows 8 Consumer Preview version of the platform.
Microsoft did say a couple of months ago that enterprise applications would be available through the app store as well, in addition to software destined for consumers (which includes both apps and games).
