Microsoft continues the war against its long-time rival Google with another Windows advertisement that criticizes the Chromebooks for not being “real laptops.”
The idea is pretty much the same as in the first anti-Chromebook ad: someone standing in front of the camera talks about the advantages of a Windows notebook, while also bashing Google’s Chromebook for not being able to run Office and for requiring a permanent Internet connection.
This time, a woman explains how her children are always using her laptop for homework, a task that would obviously be impossible on a Chromebook without the Office productivity suite, as she notes.
Of course, it’s up to the user to decide whether Chromebooks are indeed worth a shot or not, even without Office and traditional desktop apps, but according to recent states, they are quickly gaining ground in the notebook industry.
