Microsoft has just announced that this month’s Patch Tuesday cycle would bring a total of five security updates for its software solutions, including two that are labeled as “critical.”

The critical updates will be aimed at fixing flaws in Windows 7, Server 2008 R2, 8/8.1, Server 2012/2012 R2 and RT/RT 8.1, but also in Microsoft Forefront Protection 2010 for Exchange Server, according to the company’s Security Bulletin Advance Notification for February 2014.

The three patches that are marked as “important” will try to address glitches found in basically all Windows versions currently on the market, starting with Windows XP and ending with the newly-launched Windows 8.1.

As usual, no other details have been provided, as Microsoft wants to keep users on the safe side until the patches are officially released via Windows Update.
