Hideo Kojima has offered gamers a new look at the upcoming stealth-based action adventure game Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and 17 minutes of gameplay footage has emerged on the Internet.

The video showcases the level that Gamescom attendees will get hands-on time with on the show floor this week, and the many gameplay quirks contained within, such as buttons to make horses poop.

The footage contains some useful commentary that explains some of the features, such as using the phantom cigar to pass the time while waiting for nightfall so you can sneak into an enemy base.

Additionally, the video shows how the game will adapt to strategies that you tend to over-use, such as outfitting guards with helmets if you tend to rely on tranquilizer gun headshots too much.

The gameplay video looks pretty good, and in spite of the fact that Kojima is showing the same level that was revealed at E3, the vid highlights how replaying a mission differs each time.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is also coming to PC, as series creator Hideo Kojima confirmed, in addition to the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One platforms. For the time being, there is no release date other than the Q1 2015 window.
