The two games will be linked by a narrative thread

The chronological relationship between Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain and Ground Zeroes is now clear, but it seems that neither series creator Hideo Kojima nor publisher Konami is sure about how the two titles will be delivered to players.

Jay Boor, the director of public relations at the publisher, was asked whether the games would be offered on the same disc or in the same package and he replied, "Can’t confirm at this time."

The answer came after Kojima had previously explained that Ground Zeroes would be a prequel to The Phantom Pain and suggested that both games would be offered in the same retail package.

Konami is also unwilling to say whether the two Metal Gear Solid titles will both be offered on next-generation consoles.

Kojima has promised that the new titles in the franchise will use core stealth mechanics, after the recent Revengeance was action driven.
